Legislation requires employers to identify existing or potential risks to the health and safety of their employees, and to reduce or control the identified risks.
This course will provide learners with the ability to meet their legislated duties in the workplace. The course will outline the steps from risk assessment to job hazard analysis and then finally writing the safe work practices and procedures. Upon successful completion of this course a certificate, and/ or wallet card where applicable, will be emailed to the company contact.
This course is designed to meet or exceed provincial legislation and industry best practices.
Duration and materials
The course includes approximately six hours of theory where the learners will work both independently and in groups. Learners will receive a manual which includes excerpts of the applicable legislation.
This course is designed for supervisors, lead hands, and middle management but could be attended by anyone that would participate in the company’s risk assessment process.
Topics include the guiding principles of hazard identification, risk assessment, the job hazard analysis process, and how that information should be the basis of the company’s safe work practices and procedures.
